Karim’s diversified marketing and business development experience includes over 9 years working for great brands ranging from quick service restaurants to telecommunications. He was head of marketing and business development for various brands like KFC, Carl’s Juniors, TGI Fridays, Adobe, Telecom Egypt, General Mills, Unilever, Total Supply & Marketing (French Energy Giant) and many more.

Being a marketer to Karim was more than just executing marketing plans. It was more about the strategic, operational and tactical outlook which makes a marketer think on all levels in the organisation and successfully lead marketing teams. Karim was inspired by marketing planning and experienced the benefits of such planning efforts with the great brands mentioned above, which led him to start delivering the CIM Professional Qualifications in Marketing with one of the leading universities in the Middle East; The American University in Cairo, Egypt. AUC is a leading educational establishment that has more than 90 years in teaching the world about the Middle East in various areas including marketing.

His interests also include marketing communications consultancy, operations management, supply chain management and political economic analysis of markets.

Karim Salem holds a B.A. in Political Science specialised in Political Economy. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Heriot Watt University, UK. Furthermore, he holds a CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
