At Professional Academy, our purpose extends beyond delivering courses and qualifications. Whilst supporting individuals through apprenticeships and professional qualifications in Marketing, Sales, and Management is central to what we do, our commitment to making a genuine difference in people's lives goes considerably further.
At the heart of that commitment is our Managing Director, Martin Hutchins MBA FCIM, who is passionate about helping individuals — particularly young people — realise their potential and access meaningful careers. It is that passion which drives his voluntary work with LTSB (Leadership Through Sport and Business), a charity that works with young people across the UK who face disadvantage, giving them the skills, confidence, and connections to pursue fulfilling careers in whatever field they choose.
Martin Hutchins' Passion for Empowering Young People
This year, Martin travelled to Birmingham to speak to a group of aspiring apprentices connected with LTSB, including Muhin Hussain, Yusef Al-himrani, and Yannes Louie. His commitment to mentoring young people is part of Professional Academy's wider vision to empower individuals and build meaningful, sustainable careers.
The session brought together Martin's professional expertise and personal experience to offer practical, honest guidance — both on navigating the world of work and on developing the mindset needed to grow throughout a career. His message centred on the importance of staying curious, embracing challenges, and never stopping learning.
Inspiring Feedback from LTSB Apprentices
The response from the apprentices who attended the session reflects the impact that high-quality mentoring can have on young people at a pivotal moment in their professional journey.
Muhin Hussain described the session as genuinely inspiring, noting that Martin shared not only valuable marketing strategies but also practical life advice. He left feeling motivated and ready to apply what he had learned, with a renewed commitment to staying curious and continuing to grow.
Yusef Al-himrani attended the session at the Page Group building in Birmingham alongside the wider LTSB group. He highlighted how hearing about Martin's journey through the marketing world offered real insight into the industry and what it takes to succeed within it.
Yannes Louie spoke about the value of the session in helping her to think differently about her career prospects. She noted that Martin's story gave her a new sense of perspective and motivation — and left her feeling ready to take action rather than delay.
These responses are a powerful reminder of what structured mentoring and access to experienced professionals can do for young people who are just beginning to find their footing in the world of work.
How Professional Academy and LTSB Are Making a Difference
At Professional Academy, we believe that making a difference goes beyond qualifications and course completions. By supporting initiatives like LTSB, we help young people gain the confidence, skills, and guidance they need to step into rewarding careers — regardless of their background or starting point.
LTSB's work is built on the belief that talent is evenly distributed but opportunity is not. By connecting young people facing disadvantage with professional mentors, employer networks, and structured career support, LTSB helps to level that playing field in a meaningful and lasting way. We are proud to support that mission.
