Productivity performance falling. Is it you?

Productivity performance falling. Is it you?

Latest information from the Office for National Statistics show the UK Output per hour worked in UK 21% below average for G7, and the widest for over 20 years. We like to think that Britain is home to some of the world’s best and most dynamic and innovative businesses, with hard working and talented workers. But the statistics show the rate of output per hour worked is some of the poorest in the world. To put it another way, a German worker can produce in 4 days what it takes his or her counterpart in Britain 5 days!

Can we really be working less efficiently than the French and Italians?

So what is driving this metric and more importantly what can be done in your own organisation to boost productivity and growth?

To get a better understanding the Professional Academy launched last week an on line survey to ask organisations how they measure productivity, what are current performance levels and investment strategies going forward. The goal is to collate this information and feedback at seminar and our web site in mid-May. More importantly discuss options to fuel performance improvement.

If this topic is close to your management’s thoughts please complete the survey if you have not done so already. The link is at the bottom of the page.

Knowing where you are and where you want to get to are key strategic decisions, the results of the survey will help with both.

Please contact me if you have further questions on 01223 365505

I look to forward to sharing the results with you and the discussions they will raise at seminar in May.
