Vesta Anderson: growing confidence in marketing

By Martin Hutchins, MBA

Vesta used a practical Level 4 Marketing Executive apprenticeship to turn legal experience into confident workplace marketing capability.

Vesta joined AO’s Level 4 Marketing Executive apprenticeship to complement her legal background with practical marketing capability. The hands-on approach fitted alongside her role and helped her build a sound foundation in marketing rather than studying theory in isolation.

Personable online workshops, tutor guidance and mentor support helped Vesta stay motivated when work and study were demanding. She now contributes more confidently in meetings, is preparing for her end-point assessment and is considering further CIM and Level 6 study.

Libby Shorthouse: building a marketing career at AO

By Martin Hutchins, MBA

From running small businesses to developing a sponsorship career at AO, Libby built practical marketing confidence through her apprenticeship.

Libby moved into marketing from a background in small-business ownership, bringing customer insight and creativity but no formal marketing experience. Her Level 4 Marketing Executive apprenticeship gave her a structured way to develop multi-channel marketing, content and planning skills while continuing in work.

When personal circumstances and a move from AO’s Content team to Sponsorship made the journey more demanding, flexible delivery and steady tutor and mentor support helped her stay on track. She has since earned a promotion into her dream role and is preparing to lead an activation project for her end-point assessment.

Questions about stories, results and outcomes

Are results and outcomes independently verified?
Some outcome data may come from internal reporting, approved surveys or programme records. Figures should only be published here once they have been verified and approved for use.
Can employers use these examples when considering apprenticeships or qualifications?
Yes. The page is designed to help employers understand the kinds of outcomes that can be supported through apprenticeships, qualifications and tailored development conversations.
How can I discuss the likely outcome for my situation?
The best next step is to speak to an advisor about your goals, current position and route options so expectations can be discussed carefully and honestly.
What kinds of employer stories do you publish?
Employer stories may cover apprenticeships, qualifications, capability building, workforce development and practical business impact where there is clear, defensible evidence.
What kinds of learner stories do you publish?
